Ride to Stanz and its schnapps distilleries

The village of Stanz is Austria’s number one producer of schnapps and enjoys a sunny location high above Landeck. It is famous for its award-winning fruit schnapps and liqueur, in particular those made using locally grown plums. This ride is an excellent opportunity to discover the village and sample some local produce with a visit to some of the distilleries in the region.
The ride starts at the tourist information office in Landeck and leads through the town and via the cycle path to the Burschlbrücke bridge. After crossing the bridge, the trail climbs 270 vertical metres in 4 kilometres on the way to Grins. The “Grüß Gott Weg” trail then continues to Stanz. The ride back leads along an attractive cycle path past the Zammer Lochputz – a fascinating canyon carved deep into the rock – and the village of Zams to the starting point in Landeck.
