Erzurum, armenisch Էրզրում Ersrum, Կարին Karin oder Արծն Arzen, kurdisch Erzîrom/Erzirom, ist mit etwa 762.321 Einwohnern die größte Stadt Ostanatoliens und Hauptstadt der gleichnamigen Provinz Erzurum im Osten der Türkei. Erzurum ist eine Büyükşehir Belediyesi und seit der letzten Gebietsreform einwohner- und flächenmäßig identisch mit der Provinz.
In der modern geplanten Stadt mit breiten Durchgangsstraßen sind mehrere bedeutende Bauwerke aus der seldschukischen und osmanischen Zeit erhalten, die überwiegend zwischen dem 12. und 18. Jahrhundert entstanden. Dazu zählen Medresen, Moscheen, Grabbauten und eine Zitadelle auf dem Altstadthügel.
Fünf Kilometer südlich der Stadt befindet sich am Hang des Palandöken Dağı eines der beliebtesten Skigebiete des Landes.
